Covert Smart Phone to Spy Camera

By

No matter where you go nowadays, people are glued to their smart phones and are in their own world. Everyone is holding their phone in their left hand, and doing something with it with the right hand. Its second nature, and really no one seems to notice, and this is a good thing if you need to record video in the field.

The Covert Smart Phone Spy Camera has the camera lens on the top of the phone, so when you are holding it in your left hand, you can be pointing it right at your intended target, and no one will give you a 2nd glance.
The video recordings are in clear, HD video up to 1080p (1920 x 1080) to removable SD cards. You can drop it down to 720p (1280 x 720), or VGA (640 x 480). Dropping down to a lower resolution will still give you clear, 30 frames a second video, it will just record more of it before the battery runs out. You will get up to 2 hours of recording on a single charge. It records with a time/date stamp, so you can identify the time and date of the recording, or take still photographs.
You turn on the camera and hit the record button. The vibration alert will let you know it is starting to record, and the video will be recorded to the SD cards. You can record constant video until you turn it off or stop the recording, or enable the motion detection mode if you want to set it down on your table and point it at your subject. It will only record when there is movement, and you can put it into undercover mode by turn off the LCD screen so you don't reveal you are recording.
With a 74 degree field of view, you will get a nice recording that is not too wide or too narrow. It will accept up to 32GB micro SD cards, and records video in the AVI format, or photos in JPEG format.
When finished, you can play the video back from the camera, or connect it to the computer with the included USB cable and upload the video to your desktop where you can play back the video with the appropriate software. We suggest VLC Media Player for Mac or PC, or KM Player for PC. You can also connect the HDMI cable to play back on a TV or Monitor.
It includes a power adapter, earphones, charging cable, USB cable, HDMI cable, 4GB memory card and a carrying case.
If you are in Law Enforcement, a Private Investigator, or just need to do some covert field recording, you will benefit from using a spy camera like the Covert Smart Phone Spy Camera on your next assignment.

The History Of Apps

Mobile phone apps are now a huge part of the world's mobile market and have carved out a well established industry in their own right. The design, creation and distribution of apps is big business and everyone wants in on the monolithic app market. From individuals to small businesses and beyond, the concept of having an app associated to you is a very attractive option indeed. It opens up numerous prospects and potential, spreading your brand to a mass audience. But where did apps begin and what is their history?
It may surprise some, but apps have been around in one form or another since the relative birth of the mobile phone. Way back in the early 1980's, one of the first Motorola products featured an application whereby you could look at your contacts. This is possibly the earliest example of how apps would later be used to redefine the mobile phone.

A few years later, when mobile phone technology began to allow for more practical improvements, the race for competition truly began. Games began appearing on phones for purely entertainment value. The idea that phones were only useful for communication was becoming less apparent.

The size of mobile phones began to shrink, as did their prices; all the while, their capabilities expanded. More mobile phone masts were put up across the country, meaning reception was greatly improved. The features and apps of phones were becoming more advanced by the year.

The emergence of the internet really changed everything. Before, phones may have had a calculator or notepad and a way of showing the date and time. The internet made developers see the future with added clarity. However, there was a need to 'plug' the phone into the worldwide web. Once that could be achieved, phones could have almost unlimited resources.

The problem was phones at this stage didn't adapt well to the internet. The screens simply were not advanced enough to cope with online page. Everything had to be scaled down and saturated. Not only, did the phones themselves struggle to deal with this, but it cost the user extra to access.

WAP or Wireless Application Protocol started the revolution and paved the way for finding a solution this problem. It enabled the phone to operate online pages, albeit in a limited capacity. There needed to be further breakthroughs to push the boundaries of apps ever further. In 1994, the arrival of PDA improved the previous technology and allowed phones to be greater than ever before.

As trends for wallpapers and ringtones grew with mobile technology, as well as the memory to store music and photos, the possibility for apps also grew. Year on year, mobiles became more sophisticated and featured more variety in apps, including games. The rise of the touch screen smart phone, and Apple's uniquely simple way of accessing the internet by way of apps has brought along the latest revolution. The use of app-stores has pushed the industry into the stratosphere and there is now no looking back.

What New Features Will iOS7 Have?

What has happened to Apple? With Steve Jobs gone will it survive? The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) took this place in June and we all eagerly awaited great news... After all, Apple is the leading trendsetter right?

Finally our wait has paid off. iOS7 is due out fall of 2013. The main differences are the security features as well as a new and improved operating system. Some of the new features are as follows:

Auto update - Apple has always been known for its ability to fight off malicious malware and now it is able to update silently and automatically. This is an important function since in the past coders were able to trick users with update notifications and having them download malicious malware.

Activation Lock - Stolen devices were a large concern for users. The new activation lock prevents theirs from wiping the device clean or deactivating the find my iPhone feature. The iPhone will stay in Lost mode when you lose your phone and are forced to remote wipe it.

Safari's "Do Not Track" -This allows users to request that servers not track them - nice to have.
Per app VPN control - A VPN feature will be offered in the upcoming IOS7. The apps will configure automatically to a VPN once opened. This is nice since the data for the app will be transferred whereas other data will not.

Key chains - Thank goodness for this feature!! Password management in iCloud that will create secure passwords. Synchronization across devices is allowed for not only passwords but other confidential data. I don't know about you but my password management is less than optimal. Will this be better? We shall see. I feel as if I waste more time here than anywhere. Yes it is important, I got that, but make it easier for the user!
Improved mail- Seriously? I hope so, I have tried more and more mail clients on my Mac and still never found the right one to work well with my Mac. This will allow Microsoft Exchange 2010 users to sync notes with Outlook on their Mac or PC.

Caching Server supports iOS7. This results in faster download speeds. Updates and purchased content will be cached on a local Mac server. This will increase download speeds but double the amount.
Audio-only: FaceTime calls. This be a built-in VoIP and allow free long distance and international calls. You will be able to voice chat over Wi-Fi without a phone plan. I am sure Verizon and Att&t will not be pleased.
Inclinometer: Previous versions of iOS brought software support for the gyroscope and accelerometer; now it looks like iOS 7 will get the latest in 3D space-tracking technology: an inclinometer. Not sure if I will use this!

Call blocking: iOS 7 will have the ability to block phone numbers and email addresses.
Siri updated: Siri will be updated in many ways. She will be able to answer more questions and complete more complex tasks such as a full twitter integration and system service options. I personally never use Siri... we don't get along.

Improved notification sync and natural language: IOS 7 will sync all of your devices and in addition it will present your daily activities in natural language. Kinda like having Siri tell you your day ahead.
Faster: Caching Server supports iOS7. This results in faster download speeds. Updates and purchased content will be cached on a local Mac server. This will increase download speeds double the amount.
Auto updates for apps: With OS7 you will not need to manually update your apps. They will automatically update.

Developer APIs: There will be 1500 new developer APYs in iOS7.

60fps video: The new video will supposedly shoot at 60 frames per second.

How to Install Wireless Security Cameras

By

Wireless security cameras are a popular choice for many users because of their simple and rapid deployment. These cameras offer convenience when the placement of wires or cables for connection to camera equipment would be difficult or even impossible. Some wireless security cameras use batteries, allowing them to remain totally independent of power outlet cables as well. They are also portable and a good option for temporary use since they can be moved from location to location very easily.

Even though wireless security cameras are typically easy to install, they are available in several different choices for connectivity - which can make a huge difference in installation, image quality and overall performance. The classic wireless camera system broadcasts the radio signal over the air to a receiver, which is tuned to the same frequency as the cameras, just like in old analogue broadcast TV. The main downside of this type of signal transmission is that it's prone to interference problems, which often cause the video to become distorted or break up completely. The signal can also be intercepted by anyone with a baby monitor or wireless scanner, making it vulnerable to prying eyes. In addition, it can be quite difficult to install multiple wireless cameras within this system as they usually experience cross-talk with each other.

While "analogue wireless" cameras are still being utilized in surveillance systems found in many households and businesses today, more advanced, digitally-paired wireless systems that address the above-mentioned issues have been developed. These systems modulate the video signal into a digital bit stream, which is then transmitted as data between the cameras and the receiver, the same way modern digital broadcast TV works. This produces a secured connection between the wireless cameras and the base station, making it virtually impossible to eavesdrop. The buffered, digital signal also prevents signal loss, which causes distortion or noise, and greatly improves image quality. Wireless IP cameras are the latest development in CCTV surveillance. In an IP-based wireless system, each camera outputs a data stream, rather than a video signal. The cameras use Wifi to connect to the wireless network and software to manage the cameras. Wireless IP cameras provide the highest quality video performance.

Installing Wireless Security Cameras

Wireless camera systems are typically uncomplicated, so you can install the equipment on your own. While the camera installation process may vary slightly according to the model, the basic installation procedure for wireless cameras is the same.

Steps

1) Decide which part of the house to install your wireless video camera in. Most wireless security cameras can be installed indoors or outdoors. But outdoor wireless cameras are specifically designed with a wider viewing angle to help monitor large outdoor areas. They also come with night vision and a tough, weather-resistant protective housing.
Mount your cameras near entryways so you can record anyone entering the house or exiting. It's also recommended that you install cameras directly above your valuables so you can monitor them at all times. Other ideal locations include: around the perimeter of your property and areas where they can be seen by anyone inside the property to deter potential intruders. Make sure there's no obstruction between the camera and the receiver if you're installing an analogue wireless system.

2) Identify the most appropriate angle for the cameras. Ensure the camera allows you to keep watch over the largest area possible.

3) Bolt the camera mounting plane onto the wall. This will typically require you to get a power drill, bolts, screw, and mounting brackets. Most surveillance cameras come with the required hardware. Check the manual for specific manufacturer instructions regarding the installation of your particular model.
Hold the camera's mounting bracket into place using one hand, and then use the other to mark the screw holes with a pencil. If the screws need to be in a stud, get a stud finder from a local store so you can find an appropriate place for mounting. But if the camera doesn't have to be screwed into a stud, you can hold the camera's mounting bracket into place using a drywall anchor bolt.

4) Place the wireless video camera on the mounting plane.

5) Plug the video camera into the power outlet or insert the batteries.

6) Follow manufacturer instructions to synchronize the video camera to your receiver.

Who Killed the PC?

By

Nobody actually. However, I'm getting tired of hearing about the PC's demise every few years. I think such statements are designed to sell magazines as opposed to having any validity. I read about the latest version of the death scenario in a computer trade rag and I think it was written by another prepubescent with little experience in the field, and swallows everything the vendors tell him. In the latest version, the PC's demise is attributed to the advancement of the tablets and smart phones. I'm sure such devices have had an impact on traditional laptops, but I cannot imagine them having a significant impact on traditional desktops.

I like the "look and feel" of my desktops, not just the bigger screens, but the mouse and full keyboard. I've never been able to acclimate to small flat screen keyboards, particularly when writing voluminous documents. I can probably type 140 words a minute with a normal keyboard, but I feel tremendously restrained when trying to type on a tablet or smart phone. Not surprising, I think of desktop computers as "industrial strength" as opposed to the smaller devices which are useful for smaller and less important tasks. There is no doubt we are a mobile society, but if you need something of substance done, you need a desktop computer. This is why I believe the announcement of the death of the PC is bit premature. Consider this, if the PC is truly dead, the business world would be forced to shutdown as just about every network is dependent on it, as does small business.

Over the years I have also heard of the demise of the web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari), but somehow they show no sign of abating. Then there is the supposed death of certain programming languages, particularly COBOL, which was primarily used on mainframe computers. Interesting, it is now over fifty years old but still keeps on truckin', as are other programming languages and data base management systems. If you are a COBOL programmer, you've got a job for life as nobody will dare fire you in fear their legacy systems will somehow implode without you.

True, our technology changes rapidly, but I don't think anything completely dies in the computer industry. We may not use punch cards much anymore, but I'll bet there is an ample supply of card readers still out there "just in case", as are archaic tape drives and other hardware/software devices. No, the PC isn't going to die any time soon. There is simply too many people imbued with the technology. I am also sure this will not be the last time we hear of its demise, particularly as other vendors want to promote an alternative technology. We should always be a little skeptical when we hear, "The sky is falling."
Next time you hear the claim the PC is dead, simply mutter "Nonsense" under your breath and trash what you are reading.

Online Speech to Text

By

Nowadays, more and more people use text-to-speech (TTS) technology to improve their reading efficiency and save time. But, for newbie computer users, it's too complicated to download and install various software, including speech engines and voices. Fortunately, there are many websites supply free online speech synthesis services without any software download and installation. The following recommendations are the top five sites with lots of unique features.

1. AT&T Labs Natural Voices Text-to-Speech Demo
The AT&T labs official text to speech demo is the best online program to experience and use the famous high-quality human sounding AT&T Natural Voices for free. And the demo is very easy to use. The whole process contains only three simple steps.
Step 1. Choose voice and language from the voice list.
Step 2. Input or paste text for conversion.
Step 3. Click the "SPEAK" or "DOWNLOAD" button to synthesize your text to wave audio file!
If you want to try more AT&T Natural Voices of other languages, the Wizzard Software AT&T Natural Voices Demo is the obvious choice.

2. imTranslator TTS Utility
The TTS section of the imTranslator website supplies a TTS utility with animated speaking characters. This program will read the text in the most realistic, human-sounding way in a variety of languages: English U.S., Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and European Spanish.
Additionally, you may adjust the speed of the speech if the default speed doesn't fit you. The reading word will be highlighted automatically while playback.
Another exciting feature of this utility is Virtual Keyboard that allows multilingual text input in most popular languages.
For webmasters, imTranslator allows you to add TTS functionality to your website. To incorporate the TTS Voice to your website, just copy several lines of HTML code and paste it into your web page. And there are four styles (floating button, iframe, link, banner) available.

3. iSpeech TTS Demo
Listen to anything you used to read with iSpeech TTS service. There is no software required because iSpeech is a software as a service. That means you don't have anything to install or any bloat-ware, malware or spyware risk. You simply enter the text or upload the document you would like to convert to speech.
The quick start demo on the home page is easy enough. Just enter some text and play! Now anyone can listen to any text content with minimal effort, no software installation and no technical expertise.
Besides the easy demo, iSpeech also supplies a more powerful and complex text to speech service for registered users (the registration is free). This advanced text to speech service allows you convert text directly or upload files of various formats to convert.
iSpeech also lets you upload any supported document, website, blog, etc. and click convert file or the listen button.
Another great feature of iSpeech is the iSpeech Library. All your conversions are remembered by iSpeech and are accessible from the Library where you can listen to and download them whenever needed. This feature is very useful when you have plenty of speech conversions.

4. IVONA TTS Tool
The online IVONA TTS Tool allows you to experience text-to-speech technology by just one click, using their unique and crystal clear IVONA voices.
You may want to use another interface of IVONA - the IVONA Recording. This advanced interface allows you to backward/forward sentences and paragraphs.

5. vozMe TTS Program
vozMe allows you to convert text to speech or MP3 audio files directly. All you need to do is enter your text and click the "Create mp3" button. vozMe now supports six languages, including Espanol, English, Italiano, Hindi, Portuguese and Catala.

Another great feature of vozMe is "Speech in Your Browser". vozMe lets you add a speech synthesis bookmarlet to your browser. After installing the male or female voice bookmarklet, select any text as you browse, click the "vozMe" button in your browser and you will hear the text.
For webmasters, vozMe supplies a variety of utilities to help you add speech to your website, such as Wordpress plugin, Template for Blogger, Joomla plugin or code, and common code of adjustable text/image links or buttons.

All of the above online services are free to use, no software download and installation. They are the easiest way to learn about text-to-speech technology, but not the best. If you want to experience all the features of this technology like faster conversion, easier opening, clipboard reading, pronunciation corrections, speech control tags, etc., you will need a professional text-to-speech software, such as 2nd Speech Center.

Speech to Text

By

It seems like speech to text software is now coming of age. What I mean by that is that it's not exactly a new idea. Although it is newly on the market as something more and more people want to use.

If you've ever been a Star Trek fan you might remember in 1986 version of Star Trek IV where Scotty sits down at a desk and says "computer"! - But nothing happens. Then he picks up the mouse and starts to talk into it like a phone; again nothing happens. So somebody suggests that he just use the keyboard to which he scoffed and mumbled something about it being archaic. But it seems like a lot of things on Star Trek have actually come to fruition.

For example, we now have doors that open and close as soon as you get close to them. These are most often found in grocery stores are department stores. If you look around I'm sure you will discover a lot of things that seem commonplace - but when you were a kid watching Star Trek they may have just seemed cool and futuristic.

But now we have speech to text software that is actually about 97% accurate. I use it daily for all of my article writing. And although I still type out my e-mail messages, I may have to add that into one of the things I can use the software for. It's just not as automatic for me yet.

The software is actually more than just a helpful typing aid. The command system in the advanced speech to text software will open the Internet, search, browse, and find things for you and all you have to do is give the proper commands. It's really not hard to learn - there is about a 5 minute tutorial you'll go through at the very beginning that will help you learn commands as well as help the software become familiar with your voice.

But again it doesn't stop there. As you use the software it updates itself to your way of speaking each time you use it. It also has a nice function where you can set an accent. Therefore if you have a Canadian accent you check that command, and that will better help the software understand your speaking.
It really is actually MORE high-tech than what you might have seen on the Star Trek film. That's reasonable though since that was a look into the faraway future, and now that future is our present day.
Visit www.SpeechtoTextReview.com and find out where you can get the least expensive Speech to Text Software. You can review the options you will get and compare different versions to find the one that is right for you.

How to sign up for adsense

By

Google AdSense is a great affiliate program to help you make money fast online. This is a pay-per-click program where you get paid every time someone clicks on one of your ads. How much you get paid depends on how much the advertiser has agreed on to pay Google for each click. Google simply shares a cut with you because you are the one hosting the ad on your website.

So really, it is a win-win situation for all, making this one of the best affiliate programs online. Anyone can sign up for Google AdSense, but Google is a little picky on who they allow into their program. They will go over each application manually, check out your website, and depending on whether or not they like your website, they will either approve or deny your website.

Google does not like spam sites, or sites with no content. So before you even think about applying you should take the time to read over the rules and regulations, and then adjust your website to those rules.
One of the most important things to do before applying for AdSense is to create some valuable content on your website. Your content should be well written and beneficial to the user.

One thing I have learned is that Google loves webmasters and bloggers, but above them, they place their users. When someone comes to Google looking for information, Google wants to send them to great websites, and if your website it not what Google considers to be great, then you won't get very far.

Google does not want to be associated with anyone who is not there help others in one way or another. So it is very important that the content you provide is going to be valuable content for others.

Your content should be focused and written around several main keywords to get started. This helps Google figure out what kind of ads to place on your site for optimum results.

Then once you have read the terms of services, and created content that is valuable to others you can sign up for it. To sign up, simply search the term "Google AdSense" and you will be taken to a page where you can apply. Please be patient as it will take them several days to go over your information and approve you.
Once you are approved, make sure to continue to comply with all of their rules, or else you could get suspended for the program for life. You do not want that to happen.
